Herd Sires

Dunn’s Reload 113B (Registration # 1285908)

  • Reload is a purebred Gelbvieh bull with a low 6 frame score and produces calves that hit the ground growing!
  • He currently ranks in the top 1% of the Gelbvieh breed for Average Daily Gain and has a great spread of EPD’s from Calving Ease to Stayability!
  • His sons make great herd bulls and his daughters are very feminine with excellent maternal traits.
  • Regardless of breed composition, if your herd needs a boost in fertility and maternal characteristics without sacrificing growth, this powerful sire deserves a long look.
  • Semen available soon through Glendale Farms. Contact Steve or Bryn if you would like to pre-order.

TW Traveling On 4431 (Registration # 3467745)

  • We purchased this Red Angus sire in the Spring of 2016 and he was used to breed most of our heifers that year.
  • Traveling On comes from the Dina cow family, which is known throughout the Red Angus breed for production and longevity. Unfortunately, his Dam passed away in 2017, but after 14 years in the Whitley Red Angus herd, she boasts a 107.83 MPPA!
  • His 2017 calf crop was so impressive, we kept some of his daughters despite them being out of first calf heifers.

Whether you’re in the market for a herd bull or heifers, Traveling On progeny will stay in your herd for a long time.

Brandywine Denali 615D (Registration # 1368166)

  • Denali is our newest Gelbvieh herd sire and was acquired in the Fall of 2017.
  • This purebred Gelbvieh bull checks a lot boxes and we couldn’t find a red Gelbvieh herd sire prospect that has a more balanced set of EPD’s than Denali.
  • Denali loves to work and travels very well while servicing cows but, is also very docile. His first calves hit the ground in the Fall of 2018 and we couldn’t have been happier with the calving ease and vigor his progeny displayed.
  • His $Cow, PG30, & STAY EPD’s are all in the top 2% of the Gelbvieh breed. So, if you’re looking for a Gelbvieh sired bull or heifer that will add fertility and profit to your bottom line, then Denali’s calves need to be strongly considered.

    TLA MR Brute 8565F (Registration # 4085598)

    • Brute was bred by Tlach Red Angus of Britt, IA and was our top pick at the Ludvigson Stock Farms 2019 Fall Ozark Bull Sale.
    • This 1A Red Angus bull combines several great Red Angus bloodlines such as: LSF Night Calver, Beckton Julian GG B571, LCMN Enterprise, Feddes Big Sky, Red 6 Mile Full Throttle, LCC Heaven or Bust, and LCB Jewel Maker.
    • He has a huge spread from BW (72 lbs.) to Adjusted WW (804 lbs.) and posted an Adjusted YW of 1,444 lbs. Brute also carries a top 2% $Profit & top 3% $Ranch and has GM, WW, YW, ADG, Milk, CW, & REA EPD’s that are all in the top 25% or better of the Red Angus breed.
    • With his dam and maternal grand dam both posting a 107 MPPA, we believe his calves will top the charts in several performance based categories within our herd and we’re very excited to offer his genetics to our customers in the future.

    A.I. Sires

    KHR 52C (Registration # 1323205)

    • 52C has the most impressive set of EPD’s that we’ve ever seen out of a red, purebred Gelbvieh sire!
    • He currently has only one EPD (Marbling) that is not in the top 45% of the Gelbvieh breed.
    • We recently decided to start using him, since his sire (KHR 25A) is no longer being collected and we’re hoping that his progeny look and perform like his sire’s do.
    • Semen available through Kicking Horse Ranch in Oilmont, MT.

    LSF Conqueror 0026X (Registration # 1368793)

    • Conqueror was used on our Red Angus heifers this year due to his highly accurate Calving Ease and Birth Weight EPD’s.
    • Bred by Ludvigson Stock Farms, Conqueror is a moderate framed sire that also offers big-time performance.
    • Another descendant from the Dina cow family, we’re expecting his calves to be standouts in the pasture and be hard to part with.
    • Semen available through Genex.

    3SCC Domain A163 (Registration # 1619642)

    • We used Domain to AI Red Angus cows with for the first time this year and we are planning to use him on heifers and cows for the next few years.
    • This dark red sire is a total outcross to many of the Red Angus powerhouses such as, Redemption, Nebula P707, Conquest, and Mission Statement.
    • Domain is respectively in the top 3% or greater for Herdbuilder, Heifer Pregnancy, and Stayability EPD’s.
    • Semen available through Genex.

    Hille Dakota Crusader C337 (Registration # 1330600)

    • C337 was bred by Chimney Butte Ranch in Mandan, ND and was purchased at their 2016 production sale by Sandy Knoll Farm.
    • A dark red Gelbvieh sire that also has good balance in his EPD’s along with a top 1% Calving Ease Maternal EPD.
    • He’s another bull that we used for the first time this spring to AI cows and heifers and we’re certainly looking forward to seeing his progeny on Glendale Farm.
    • Semen available through Sandy Knoll Farm in Saint John, KS.

    Past Herd and A.I. Sires

    Andras New Direction R240 (Registration # 1506922)

    • New Direction is a total outcross to Red Angus genetics and from a great black angus cow family.
    • We used him on cows and heifers with no calving difficulties whatsoever.
    • He produces easy keeping, dark red calves that grow well and perform. He’s also a very good cross on Continental breeds.
    • Semen available through Genex.

    Andras Legend X11 (Registration # 1364687)

    • We purchased Legend from Osborn Red Angus in 2015 when he was five years old.
    • Legend left his mark on the Osborn herd and he did the same for us by producing deep, stout bulls and feminine females that are very docile.
    • The last calves from Legend hit the ground this Spring but, he went out on a high note giving us a lot of nice heifers.
    • Semen available through Osborn Red Angus in Athens, AL.

    KHR 25A (Registration # 1260229)

    • When we started searching for a Gelbvieh AI sire, 25A became our favorite as soon as we saw his phenotype and EPD’s.
    • This bull is structurally sound with excellent growth and fertility while maintaining a moderate frame.
    • His progeny certainly didn’t disappoint, and we really hated to find out that Kicking Horse Ranch was no longer collecting him but, we’re sure glad that we came across him when we did.
    • We used 25A on Gelbvieh and Commercial cows and heifers.
